Slide Haus

Slide Haus is a two-level residential structure conceived as a geometric abstraction of a sloping landscape. The sloping movement of the structure also determines its interior circulation. The lower level of the house originated as a series of projections converging in a single point, transforming the lines into vertical enclosures that lift to the upper level where it folds and cantilevers over the carport below.

The angular characteristics of the house deflect any direct solar exposure, effectively cooling the structure during the daytime. The folding exterior walls also mutate the interiors into angular spaces that inspire a distinct experience to its occupants. The interior spaces are arranged in a continuous loop, with the spaces requiring more privacy placed at the back of the house, and public spaces directly accessible from the main entrance. The facade openings enable quality daylight to enter the house, saving energy from the use of artificial lighting during the daytime. It also allows for dynamic views of the immediate environment, connecting both interior and exterior as a singular experience.
